omg...totally forgot what the password was...

It's been long since I last wrote! Well I might take even longer when term actually starts... *sigh* it's been a really hectic few days for me. Rushed back to NYC 3 days after I ended my internship at EDB; packing and unpacking was such a chore (never realised I have so much stuff!); and preparing for freshman orientation all wrapped up into less than a week! *phew*

The weather here's much better than Singapore! Sunny but breezy, even though the nights can be a little cold for skirts=( *short skirts I mean* I still wore my maroon mini to meet Vina & CZ yesterday. I had to apologize...took a nap before I left and I overslept! Wasn't completely my fault...I made an effort to set the alarm clock...but I forgot to change am to pm=( Was woken up by the phone ring. I so thought it was early in the morning and so was prepared to scold whoever who woke me up. Then I heard Vina on the other side, "Where are you?" Oh shit was my first reaction! Why am I still at home?!? haha... but the rest of the night was good. Had a lot of fun talking, while enjoying the food at St. Mark's place. Alright, maybe I did too much talking at times...but at least I was funny!!! *self-esteem* hmm... haha

Can you believe it?! I through away two pieces of clothes in one day! First I put on one of my fav Japan soccer jersey and found that the sleeves were torn...*sob* Fine it was a little old. It's ok, at least the Liverpool piece is still new. Waiting for the next World Cup! Shall get another Japan soccer jersey if its 'style' factor sustains=) Second I found my Mango capri full of faded spots. Never saw those before the summer. What happened? So I guess today's the last time I'm going to wear it. Wait...does this mean that I need to buy more clothes? I don't have any mid length bottoms for now. Oh and as I was saying, I want funky gold flats!

Yes and I hope even with running around orientation, I'll have time to do a picnic at Central Park and go to Long Island beach...

What a coincidence!

When I came out of the dressing room at Warehouse Wisma, vina & cz was standing in front of me. How funny! My dad bumped into them when he was on his way to find me and my mum. I mean Singapore is not say very big but still... it was a nice greeting on Sunday=)

Sunday was a good day. Went shopping for the second consecutive day...this time, much more fruitful. The day before, I was pretty depressed 'cos I couldn't find any decent skirts to buy at Bugis! Ok vina's gonna scold me for being bimbo...I have been whining about needing new short skirts for quite some time... haha. I must comment the salegirl at Warehouse. She was really sweet and friendly. Went out of her way to help me find matching accessories and tops. True that's her job and she's trying to make more business, but I still think she's nicer than most I've come across. So I did get a top and skirt from Warehouse. I really think it looks SUPER NICE!!! Duh...if not why would I have bought it?!? Anyway, I'll try to take a pic next time and post it...

And I have to say...I've kinda given up on local brands. Don't like the design, the cutting, the material...nothing's good. Since it's slightly cheaper to get branded US clothes like AX & Kenneth Cole, it only leaves me with the likes of Zara, Warehouse, Mango & Warehouse to shop in. Alright, occasionally I'll find some nice stuff at local stalls. At least for this summer, I think I've already reached the saturation point for that=(

Following the shopping, I went to meet the new Columbia freshies at the Send-off Party. They are all pretty nice & funny people. Finally met Desmond again. He used to be my senior and Orientation Leader in my JC days. Now he's kind of my jr and I am organizing the orientation for them! haha...this is a pretty weird feeling. Never thought we'll end up in the same school again. It's a pleasant surprise. And there's Andre too. Glad that he finally decided to come to Columbia=) Good choice! And I just saw him in the EDB lift! The world is indeed small. Or rather, my circle of friends is limited...

Last week in SINGAPORE

Next week this time, I'll already be on the plane heading back to New York. Time really flies. I'd have thought 7 weeks is a long time but it just went by like that! Part of me is really excited about going back to NYC. Miss being able to just walk down streets and streets exploring the different parts of the city. For one, I've ran out of ideas of exciting fun things to do in Singapore. But on the other hand, I must admit that I've had so much fun for the past few weeks. The next time I meet all these friends is probably in a year's time?! And of course there's my parents. It'll take some time for all of us to get used to living by ourselves again...

Alright... moving on to lighter topics. We are gonna have a party this Friday!!! Yeah I'm pretty excited about it. It'll be Vina's and my last weekend in Singapore. So I thought it'd be great if we could have a gathering with all our friends (at least most of them). And going to a club will be one of the easiest ways for different groups of friends to mix. So yup, that'll be it... ChINA BLACK on FRIDAY!!!!!

No wonder my flu is not recovering as fast as expected. Just found a stupid mistake I've been making. I'm supposed to take 2 pills each time for my sore throat. BUT BUT, I've been taking only 1 pill each time for the past few days. No wonder it seemed weird but somehow I remember myself reading the instructions and seeing 1 pill 3 times a day. ILLUSION...

First of all, HAPPY 40th BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE. Not one of those super enthusiastic viewers but at least I said it=)

Alright...don't know where to start but so many things happened in the last few days that I just can't list them all! FYI: they r all good things=) *phew*

yeah there was the US-bound party. I was forced to take part in the 'pageant' by wanyun. It was really like a pageant as in beauty contest. More like fear factor!!! I don't know where I got the courage, but instead of the normal catwalk, I did a super saucy dance to the music. Hope it wasn't too bad a performance... Then it's drinking down stout w soft-boiled egg. Lastly, it's raising money. Lost that round, ended up second. Hey but that's cos the other girl is from the organizing school!!! haha...shan't complain... I had fun anyway.

Then it was the vina *drama* followed by hilarious conversations at the chalet. Apologies for those who weren't invited. It was quite last minute and we only got like a 2-bed room. We had such fun talking about the wildest things on our minds. Was laughing, screaming, shouting so much that the next day...I've got a sore throat=) But nevertheless, it worth it. Old friends and new ones... Oh yeah must welcome cz *vina's bf* into the family! haha... and of course he's best mate daryl. funny bunch...

And then there's China Black yesterday. I hafta compliment CB for their good music. MUCH BETTER THAN ZOUK. I don't think i can take mambo anymore, let alone trance or house. China Black's one of the few places that constantly plays r&B hip hop. And the plus point about yesterday is that it's a semi-SMU party so the crowd is good too. Not too many bengs. Met a lot of pple at the party. Some rj pple... many many fencers (old & new)... So yeah despite my slight flu, had a wonderful night! A bit tired though... like my legs couldn't carry me as much as I wanted. But all's good=) Must give Daryl a compliment too... haha for being a good dancer. Alright alright, I shouldn't boost his ego anymore... it's already at an intolerable level *laughz*

And lastly, I must tell myself to start exercising again! been missing the action the past few weeks. Wah must stay fit!!!

Ok...I don't think I did you any disservice... I didn't do anything funny under-the-table. Whatever my decision was, was based on rational judgement and reason. It could have been you or me, anyone. It's something u've gotta be understand from the beginning. But I have no idea why now it seems as if I'm at fault?!?

Then I receive this email from your good friend and co-chair, advising me that I should leave the exec board next year but can still be a dj. Who r u to decide that?!? Why? You are too trumatized issit? Then don't go into any in the first place. Just like if you can't take losing, don't EVER EVER gamble! Simple as that...

Now I am telling u. I was long planning to excuse myself from the exec board next yr. I don't mind being a dj. But don't think I can cope with Fencing, and all the other committments, plus this. So I call it quit. Never did I expect that just before I was going write that email, I received co-chair's email. Fine. So be it. I'm not agitated.

I'd just like to say...I AM GLAD I DID WHAT I DID. I HAVE BEEN MUCH HAPPIER THESE DAYS. YOU MADE ME REALIZE WHAT I HAVE BEEN MISSING. THANKS! =)

you definitely gotta catch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I'm personally not a Johnny Depp fan but nevertheless, accepted vina's invitation=) It turned out to be much better than expected. Reminded me of all those childhood days when I'd spend my days at the bookshop reading Roald Dahl books. He's a truly great author. This is the movie adaptation of the book with the same name, but with an added bit of flavour at the end. It was so touching that I actually teared. Not going to say where so that this won't be a spoiler=)

I wanna know who that little boy who acted as Charlie is. He's such a cute and adorable boy. And the best of all, he's not a brat (or at least not in the movie). He showed me the importance of kinship...
