Happy Vday my friends=)

'Tis is the season to express your love...

Amazing! Now I hafta to update 2 blogs. And trying to formulate entries in Japanese isn't the easiest thing in the world. I hope I don't sound completely nonsensical with an overload of grammar and usage mistakes.

Someone other than my sensei actually wrote a comment. He said he's from Japan. I wonder if he's someone from the EALAC department, or really a stranger who stumbled upon my Japanese blog. In any case, it was a pleasant surprise. I welcome any comments from anybody. So he gave his perspective on Valentine's Day. I wrote that it seemed that Valentine's Day in Japan is when girls give boys they like chocolates. Why is it the other way round? Guys should take the initiative! And so he shared what he thought. In Japan, there's actually a White Day a month later when boys return their appreciation to the girls. We don't have such a formality in the States or in Singapore or do we?

Japanese Blog!

Guess what?!? For Japanese 3rd Year class, we hafta create our own Japanese blog, ie write in Japanese. Isn't that super amusing? Check it out when you are free... and see if you can figure out what I'm writing=)

It's amazing what I can possibly do with my Japanese at this level. I always feel like I haven't really learnt anything significant. Still relying on subtitles when watching Japanese dramas. But hey, that day when I browsed through Japanese blogs, I could actually understand what they were writing about. And actually for Japanese class, we watch dramas for 'listening comprehension' without subs (with the help of vocal lists)... I don't get everything but at least the gist of the story.

One thing for sure though... I definitely have to practice kaiwa (conversation). Found a kaiwa partner! I was trying to find a seat at Uris one day and sat beside this lady and started doing my Japanese homework. Then when I looked up, she started talking to me in Japanese, thinking that I'm Japanese. So that's how we started talking... Since she wants to practice her English, and I wanna practice my Japanese, we are aiming to meet up once a week=) All thanks for being studious in public!

Happy Lunar New Year

新年快乐!

As usual, I've been horribly lazy, which explains why the last post was 1 month ago. There's been so much things going on... I feel that things happen faster than I can take the breathe to write them down.

Fortunately, the interview season's over for me. Currently in the process of deciding where to go for the summer. It's a REALLY tough choice... It seems that the more perspectives I hear, the more confused I get! And catching up with classes... there's some work to be done!

Nevertheless, I'm glad that things has been working out for everyone (at least the majority). Vina and Chengze are going to HK... That's so exciting! Though, it'd really be cool if Vina and I can work in the same place, at least geographically. For about a few weeks, I thought I'd be going to HK this summer as well. At least when I was there for a week of break, it seemed really exiciting to work there. However, once I came back and started interviewing full-fledged, that urge to work in HK kinda died away. Partly because I connected better with the interviewers from the New York offices as compared to the Asia ones. Figured with my kinda temperament, and considering the size of the Asia offices, if I couldn't get along with one or two, it's as good as not liking the entire operation! Haha... I'll be in deep shit then=)

Talking about not getting along... there's some stories to be told. But I really hafta get back to Japanese 'shukudai'... Next entry next entry.
