my Frat orientation

No, I didn't join a Frat... not like I can in the first place. [FYI: frats are for boys.] A good friend did and I was honourably invited as the date for some kind of a senior send-off dinner. Met some interesting people and had a few pleasant surprises. Got to know a girl who was born in the same hometown as me, which was rare; another girl who's half-Japanese and speaks fluent Japanese, ie I have a new language partner! And when my entree came, it was twice the size of what everyone expected. The fried whole snapper looked like it serves two. I should have taken a photo of how big it was. No kidding... the guy sitting opposite me was so upset at how small his serving of seafood was compared to mine. Eventually he ordered another entree to make it up.

After dinner... Willy and Val joined Andre and I at a live Jazz bar. Great place to chill out with wine and cheese.

It's a sad day...

It has been an extremely happy weekend until today. I guess 'god' always tries to be fair... one shall not have too much happiness at one weekend... heheh=) I'm glad I can actually still joke about this.

Sounds like something terrible happened? Yeah... my beloved Fujitsu laptop passed away. It's not one of those cases of just a disfunctioning 'organ', where I just hafta reformat and everything goes back to normal. It seems to be a central nervous system problem. At least to Raphael, our SSA computer engineer. The CPU isn't detecting all the necessary connections!!!

So all I can do is order a new laptop online. It was probably the fastest decision to spend 1300 bucks as far as I remember. Though it ships immediately, I'll still only get it probably on Thursday or Friday. Wednesday would be a miracle but I'm staying hopeful. For now, I am hijacking my friends' laptops, whoever I can find! I simply refuse to work in the computer labs. The environment is not condusive for intellectual thinking.

Fine, it's probably not that bad after all. I didn't have internet connection in Bahamas... but it's kinda different!!! All I hope now is that I'd fall in love with my new HP laptop. Raphael guaranteed that it's good stuff. It better be!!! Wanted an IBM, no I mean Lenovo 12", but it freaking ships in 1-3 weeks. By then I'd be done with finals and flying back to Singapore. So yeah... I guess HP was the only choice I have now... for something value for money, and with good tech support in the States.

paranoid...

I need to seriously revamp this site... the frames are turning 'bad'. Somehow it doesn't load properly, at least from my comp.

And what can I say? I've been dedicating too much time into my Japanese blog, which is kinda compulsory for class... it's been fun though! I'm REALLY excited about going to Tokyo and climbing Mt. Fuji in the summer. Would definitely update on that...I hope...haha.

Anyway, I was just talking to Hanzi and realized... Gosh these e-circles, search engines, facebook, blogs, friendster, etc. are so freaky. Like you can literally search for anyone online. Oops...I guess it's not something new. But think about it, even your potential employers, and whoever else you can think of, can look up on you online. And here you are just having fun, putting up crazy comments & photos... you never know who reads them! So your stories better be uniform online and during interviews!!! *laughz*

Oh well, I guess I can't really be bothered with sensoring what I say anyway.

*disclaimer* just random thoughts...=)

Bahamas...finally
